Day 1 Arrival
Upon arrival at the Buyant Ukhaa Airport, you will be met by your guide who will accompany you until your departure and transferred to Ulaanbaatar Hotel. After lunch we will pay visits to the Mongolia's biggest Monastery Gandantegchilin and the Fine Arts Museum with a collection of world-class paintings, sculptures and artifacts. A fascinating performance of traditional music and dance will be in the evening followed by a Welcome Dinner will be in one of the best restaurants in the city.

Day 2 - Flight to Dalanzadgad, South Gobi
Today we will take a flight to the South Gobi, either in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the domestic schedule. The flight from Ulaanbaatar to the capital of the South Gobi takes one-and-a-half hours. On arrival at the airstrip in the Gobi you will be met by our local driver and jeep and taken to a Ger Camp near Bayanzag or 'Rich in Saksaul Shrubs'. This area, better known in the West as the 'Flaming Cliffs,' was first excavated in 1922 by the paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews. It is a place of atmospheric beauty famous worldwide for the number of dinosaur bones and eggs found in the area. Overnight in a Ger Camp near Bayan Zag.

Day 3 & 4 - Khongor Sand Dunes
Today we will drive west along the Mountain range of Three Beauties of the Gobi for about 4 hours until we reach Khongor Sand Dunes. On the way, you will see the grazing gazelles and antelopes on the horizon that stretches as far as the eye could see. Reaching heights of 800m, the Khongor Sand Dunes are the largest sand dunes in Mongolia stretching about 180 km. Locally they are called the 'Singing dunes' because of the masses of sand shifted by the wind, make a strange sound similar to that of distant aircraft. We will explore these massive sand dunes on camelback. The two-humped camels are very comfortable to ride, as they walk slowly and gently and we will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably between them. We will visit the camel man’s family and test khoormog or camel milk. It's worth to climb up to the top of the Sand Dunes in the evening to see the spectacular view of surrounding area and the sunset. We will stay 2 nights in a Ger Camp close to the dunes.

Day 5 - Yol Valley
After breakfast we will drive towards Yolyn Am, or Lammergeier Valley. This is about 220 km from the Ger camp you have stayed. At the entrance to the valley is a local Natural History Museum displaying interesting fossils and stuffed animals of the Gobi. The valley is about 10km long and is completely shaded from the sun in some parts by high cliff walls. A pleasant walk through the valley to the narrow gorge with ice will take an hour or two. You may be lucky enough to spot argali - wild sheep and ibexes grazing high on the cliff walls but the best time to spot them is in dawn or in the dusk. You will stay overnight in the Khan Bogd Ger camp just 6 km away from the entrance gate.

Day 6 - Return to Ulaanbaatar
You may have enjoyed this morning an early hike through the Valley or you relaxed at the camp. Return flight is scheduled in the afternoon. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, you will be taken to the same hotel and the rest of the day will be free at your leisure. Enjoy your dinner with the group at the North Indian Restaurant Hazara.

Day 7 - Flight to Muron, Hovsgol Lake
Today we will take a flight to Muron, a provincial center on the northern shore of the River Delger. A driver will meet us at the airport and we will ride a jeep for about 4 hours to reach a Ger Camp on the western shore of the beautiful alpine lake Hovsgol - one of the most scenic spots in Mongolia.

Day 8 - Hovsgol Lake
This gorgeous alpine lake is surrounded by high mountains, meadows and forests, a complete contrast to the rest of Mongolia. Amazing 90 rivers and streams flow into the lake, but only a single river flows out - the Egiin Gol, which ultimately reaches the Lake Baikal in Siberia. Plenty of activities are available here including excellent fishing, swimming, hiking and horseback riding, etc. We will explore the surrounding area on horseback and will visit a family of reindeer breeders.

Day 9 - Return to Ulaanbaatar
Today we will drive back to Muron and take an afternoon flight to Ulaanbaatar. Before the flight we will drive west 25 km to Uushigiin Ovor for the ancient burial site with deer steles date back to 3000 years ago. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar we will be met at the airport and transferred to the same hotel. The rest of the day is free at leisure. Dinner will be at a Chinese Restaurant.

Day 10 - Mt. Khogno Khaan
Today we leave the bustling city again for the Mongolian countryside. After about 4-hour driving we will reach Elsen Tasarkhai, or "Piece of Sands". This stretch of sand is a long strip that originates in the Gobi and stretches all the way into the central aimags of Mongolia. We will hike around the Mount Khugno Khan visiting a small monastery.

Day 11 - Karakorum
Today we will drive to Kharkhorin, also called Karakorin - the site of the 13th century capital of the Mongolian Empire created by Chinggis Khan. Today a very little is left from this legendary city. A magnificent Monastery Erdene Zuu was built in 16th century from the ruins of the ancient Mongol capital of Karakorum without using a single nail. Only a few remain standing today, but this is more due to Communist purges of the 1930s than poor workmanship. Discover the surrounding area including the Turtle and Phallic Rocks.

Day 12 - Hustain Nuruu
Our journey will continue to the Hustain Nuruu National Park. This over 50,000 hectare reserve protects the one and only species of wild horse, the Takhi, or better known in the world as the Przewalski Horse, which is being reintroduced to Mongolia since 1993. This Birch Tree Mountain range is home to about 50 species of mammals including red deer, roe deer, wild boar, white-tailed gazelle, grey wolf, Eurasian lynx, badger and more. Over 450 species of vascular plants grove here and 200 of them are medicinal herbs. We will stay overnight at the Hustai Tourist Resort and visit the Information Center.

Day 13 - Ulaanbaatar
Today we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and visit the Museum of Natural History where you can see a rich collection of dinosaur bones, skeletons and eggs found in the Mongolian Gobi. Unique displays and amazing puzzle toys will await us at the International Intellectual Museum too. In the afternoon, go shopping and pick up some cashmere, souvenirs and other excellent products that will remind you Mongolia back home. Dinner will be at the Avtai Sain Khaan Ger Restaurant with traditional Mongolian food and entertainment.

Day 14 - Departure
After breakfast you will be transferred to airport for your departure. Whisper "Bayartai!" to Mongolia, hopefully with a wish to return to discover the other parts of the country.
